Since today is father’s day I thought I would post snippets of the forthcoming series “The Gents”

“A gentleman is one who never hurts anyone’s feeling unintentionally” — Oscar Wilde

As much as this quote embraces what we might call the conventional idea of a gentleman. the impact of a gentleman is far too important to reduce to a single line of words. The time is right for men to adopt and follow the conducts and etiquettes of an absolute gentleman.

“The mannerism of a gentleman is irreplaceable to the world “ — Unknown

……………………………………………………….. As I begin to explore the idea of what makes a gentleman, it became apparent that the measurement of his actions on his immediate and distance environment is a key trait.

From the product of my imagination, I hold the notion that the first task of a gentleman is never to get bored (disclaimer: exercise your sense of judgement to come to your own desired conclusion on what to prioritise. Naturally, I enjoy creating stuff which is a possible bias in the context of this book.

“Only those who want everything done for them are bored”, -Billy Graham.

………………………………………………

The reason why children get bored easily is not the lack of entertaining options (they’re often surrounded by toys and games), they are bored mainly because have short attention span. Children fiddle with one thing for a little while then another, eventually they get bored. A gentleman, on the other hand, is able to lose himself in one task for a period of time

A gentleman is able to do one thing and do it well, one thing at a time. Because he has developed how to manage his focus and attention, as a result he can give full concentration each time. As the famous saying goes “an idle man’s brain or mind is the devil’s workshop” in other words it is easy to do anything when you are doing nothing.

…………………………………………………………….
Now, this is where it became interesting, even nature has a way of responding to the vacuum created by idleness particularly that of the mind.
………………………………………………………………
…although he has grown to be the master of his focus and concentrating ability; the gentleman never loses his sense of childhood curiosity..
………………………………………………………………

A real gentleman is insatiably curious about the world and people around him. In any circumstances he learn, study and observe enthusiastically; he uses his cognition to maintain relevance in a given situation. He uses self-discipline to concentrate and focus his effort on impacting the environment he found himself including people around him with an impression of increase. Part of his manly role is first to protect and nurture the interest of people around him especially women and children.
…………………………………………………………………
A gentleman builds the dominion of himself and forms the endowment of how he want to be seen and remembered which is always characterised by his actions and outcome. He relentlessly pursues wisdom while sacrificing time, energy, money amongst other things. More importantly he acquires the knowledge, not just for himself but also to convey to others. By doing this, he learned the intersection of information and it expression.
……………………………………………………………………………….
A gentleman works consistently on his ability to improvise; this is a compelling trait that every aspiring gentleman must cultivate….
